About Us
Who we are
The team collectively brings a wealth of twenty years experience stemming from prestigious firms such as GE Capital, Société Générale and MF Global.
Graduates from the country's top business schools, they put their daily efforts into protecting corporate and institutional partners from fluctuations in currency exchange and interest rates as well as commodity prices. Their high net-worth clientele consists of well-advised investors seeking to improve the diversification and above normal yields in their investment portfolios.
Yves Lamoureux, DMS, Commodity futures specialist
An undergraduate from l’École des Sciences de la Gestion, Yves started his career with Fimat Canada (a division of Soc Gen) on the hedging institutional trading desk serving large corporations and high net-worth individuals.
Parallel to the servicing of high-profile clients, Yves developed arbitrage model opportunities on multi-markets. He then joined Refco in 1999 where he serviced billion-dollar retirement funds and high net-worth individuals.
He believes that futures contracts are merely tools that can be effectively used for speculation or risk management purposes. Yves specializes in Technical Analysis when developing trading strategies.
Mathieu Noël, DMS, Commodity futures specialist
An undergraduate from HEC-Montreal, Mathieu started his career as a U.S stock option trader, and quickly grew within the firm to become Head Institutional Trader after one year. With a vivid interest in derivatives, he joined MF Global, formally Refco, which at the time was a world leader in commodity futures.
Mathieu takes pride in offering prime brokerage services in his efficient and rapid manner while always continuing to contribute to the long-term and lucrative partnerships he has formed with his elite clientele.
Mathieu Tessier, Commodity futures specialist
An undergraduate from HEC-Montreal, Mathieu started his career in corporate lending with GE Capital where he outperformed business development objectives throughout his tenure as Client Relationship Manager by identifying over 1.2 billion CAD in opportunities within investment grade, publicly traded and private companies in Eastern Canada.
Mathieu then pursued his true interest, derivatives, with MF Global as an Account Executive, responsible for futures and options hedging, speculation and arbitrage on world derivatives exchanges.
Simon Brière, Administrative associate
Building on his education in finance at HEC Montréal and at Sweden’s Lund School of Economics and Management, Simon launched his career with Scotia iTrade, our online brokerage division, before switching to the Risk Management team as an Administrative Associate.
Simon has mastered the fundamental concepts of risk management and can adapt to a constantly changing environment. This has provided him with the skills required to ensure that his team delivers the best possible results for their clients.
Gabriel Joubert-Seguin, Administrative associate
A graduate of HEC Montréal, Gabriel was awarded several scholarships while working towards his program in finance and also spent a semester at the City University of Hong Kong. He is currently studying on a part-time basis to obtain internationally recognized certifications as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). The latter title covers the field of commodities and will broaden Gabriel’s expertise in the different uses of futures contracts.
By focusing his studies on derivatives, Gabriel has acquired expertise in the analysis of the economic components of commodities and in the quantitative analysis of these complex financial instruments.
Ann Marie Morissette, Administrative assistant
After earning a degree in art and film history, her first passion, Ann Marie spent over ten years in business development and management with a number of leading retail firms.
Leveraging this extensive experience, she has redirected her priorities towards process effectiveness and customer service, and now acts as the first point of contact between the Group’s close collaborators and its administrative levels.
She plays a crucial role and is exceeding not only the Group’s expectations but also those of their business partners.
